The Giorgio Armani house is less known for their accessories than their clothing, but we are continually impressed with the Armani accessories that we come across. A perfect pairing for investigation is our soft, velvet evening pouch (Bag A) and our structured, square top handle bag (Bag B). They oppose each other in certain respects. A is soft while B is structured; A's velvet is smooth, B's faille is textured. If anything, what we can distill from this pairing is an attention to the relationship between texture and structure. On the one hand, we have soft and smooth, on the other, textured and structured. But, as the other Armani pieces in this collection remind us (see: this jacket), the house continually redefined relationships between texture and structure.
