This red-toned velour evening jacket is exemplary of Halston's early experimentation with tie-dye. We believe this jacket may be from the 60s, as later examples of Halston's tie-dye are slightly more geometrically precise.
For its age, the velvet is in extremely good condition. The hand-stitching of the interior rayon lining has come loose in one arm hole. We have chosen not to repair it: the jacket remains wearable, and the loosened stitching provides a rare view into the jacket's construction.
